A Lifetime - Scrapbook Page

Haha... yep a third post - did I say I had been busy...?? :)

I think I am so art-focused at the moment, that I'm really not happy unless I have a paint brush in my hand!!

I've used two blogs for inspiration, Dusty Attic (mood board and chipboard) and C'est Magnifique (Layout).

C'est Magnifique have beautiful layouts each month and I find combining theirs with a colour theme or mood board really helps focus some of the creative energy.

The colours from Dusty Attic are darker, warm and rich (pic below). I also LOVE their chipboard and being the month of Valentine's and all things love, it seemed very fitting to do a page for my little boy. The sentiment chipboard piece that I use 'a LIFETIME is not long enough to LOVE you', just felt like the perfect choice for me.

After colouring the chipboard I used UTEE to give the 'love' a little more oomph and shine. I love how this stuff and love how it came out.

Do you like how I covered his 'dignity'? ;) teehee.... He'd kill when he's older otherwise!

I went sparingly with the flowers on this one

I used WOW embossing powders in Pomegranate and Paprika for the chip board Baroque Circle.

Used UTEE for added texture around the frame with a Tim Holtz Urban Grunge Stamp.

The brown part of the chipboard was coloured with distress paints, ink and then stamped over the top with white and then inked again with Victorian Velvet ink,
